Enzytec™ Glucose Remover

Intended use: Several Enzymatic test-kits like Lactose/Glucose or Sucrose/Glucose use the Glucose pathway, but these tests do not work properly when the sample contains a high Glucose concentration compared to the specific sugar. For this reason the instructions include a special protocol to remove the Glucose excess in the sample, by using the enzymes Glucose Oxidase (GOD) and catalase. The present kit E3400 contains the reagents to apply this procedure on 32 samples. This procedure is very useful for the determination of residual lactose in Lactose-free milk: the excess of Glucose is removed by using the Glucose remover E3400, then the sample is tested via the Lactose/Glucose assay.

General information: Alicyclobacillus is a gram-positive, strictly aerobic, acidophilic and thermophilic spoilage bacteria, especially important for the fruit juice industry, where it has been shown to produce high amounts of guaiacol imparting offflavors to fruit juices. Alicyclobacillus is of special interest to the fruit juice canning industry because common pasteurization techniques do not deactivate the spores. Therefore early screening of Alicyclobacillus is very important for the industry since contamination can lead to considerable loss of quality and subsequently to economic losses for the producers. Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris is considered the most important spoilage species within the Alicyclobacillus genera, but other e.g. Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius have als been isolated from spoiled products. General culture methods take 10-12 days to detect the presence of Alicyclobacillus species in samples, further 24h to confirm guaiacol production and identification of isolates require even longer. To overcome this difficulty, GEN-IAL developed a multiplex real-time PCR method to detect and differentiate Alicyclobacillus species in fruit juices and concentrates much more earlier.

RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya

Intended use: RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya (Art. No. R7102) is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of native and processed soya proteins in food. Such products are beverages and food as sausages, dressings, bakery products, ice, chocolate, soup, sauce, margarine, etc. All reagents required for the enzyme immunoassay including standards are contained in the test kit. The test kit is sufficient for 48 determinations (including standards). A microtiter plate spectrophotometer is required for quantification.

RIDASCREEN®FAST Milk

Intended use: RIDASCREEN®FAST Milk is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay to quantify milk proteins in food containing whey, milk or milk powder such as sausages, ice cream, chocolate, bakery goods, cake and bread mix, soups, sauces, dressings and beverages (juice, wine, beer). The antibodies specifically detect caseins as well as β-lactoglobulin of cow’s milk and of sheep’s, goat’s and buffalo’s milk. Approvals: The ELISA RIDASCREEN®FAST Milk was approved by the AOAC Performance Tested MethodsSM Program and was assigned PTM Certification No. 101501 by the AOAC Research Institute. The in-house validation data was confirmed by an independent lab. The sandwich ELISA is applicable for the detection of milk protein (casein und b-lactoglobulin) in cookies, chocolate, ice cream, infant formula and sausages. The assay results are quantitative if the sample contains milk or milk powder. If the milk protein composition of the sample is not known and the milk protein ratio is different than the natural ratio in milk (e.g. a sample primarily consisting of whey), the results may be underestimated. If a quantitative result for caseins and/or β-lactoglobulin is requested, the sample should be tested in the RIDASCREEN®FAST Casein (R4612) and/or the RIDASCREEN®FAST β-lactoglobulin (R4902).
