1. Intended use

- The SureFast® Salmonella PLUS is a real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative detection of a specific DNA sequence of Salmonella spp.. The SureFast® Salmonella PLUS real-time PCR kit has been validated and certified in combination with the SureFast® PREP Salmonella kit by AOAC (licence number: 041103).

- Each reaction contains an internal amplification control (IAC).

2. General information

- The real-time PCR assay can be used with real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions in channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time.

- The technical validation of instruments was performed on Agilent AriaMx, Roche LightCycler® 480 II, Applied Biosystems® 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96 und Bio Molecular Systems MIC. The internal technical verification of instruments (not part of the PTM validation) was performed on Roche LightCycler® 2.0, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER, Cepheid SmartCycler, LTF MyGo Pro and Agilent Mx3005P.

The SureFast® PATHOGEN Salmonella PLUS real-time PCR has a limit of detection of <5 DNA copies. The assay limit of detection depends on sample matrix, processing grade, DNA preparation and DNA content.
