Intended Use

SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 is a laboratory reference material developed for the quantification of allergenic substances in food in the range of 1–400 mg/kg.

The product is validated in combination with the DNA extraction method SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1, and the SureFood® ALLERGEN real-time PCR kits.

General Information

SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 is based on corn flour and contains potentially allergenic food ingredients according to Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011, except for lactose and sulphur dioxide, at a concentration of 40 mg/kg.

SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 has been validated in combination with the DNA extraction method SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1, and the SureFood® ALLERGEN QUANT real-time PCR detection methods.

Role in real-time PCR allergen quantification

SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 is not an independent allergen detection kit. It is a laboratory reference material with defined allergen composition and concentration, intended to support quantification using the SureFood® ALLERGEN real-time PCR system.

When used with the corresponding PCR kit and a detection system including a standard series, the reference material supports the quantification process according to the manufacturer's validated procedure.

Note: Real-time PCR quantification reflects the amount of target DNA converted according to the validated calibration system. It does not automatically correspond to the concentration of allergenic proteins determined by ELISA.
