Intended Use

SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs is a real-time PCR assay for the direct, qualitative and/or quantitative detection of specific mollusc (Mollusca) DNA sequences in food according to Directive (EC) No. 1169/2011.

The kit was developed for the identification of mussels (Bivalvia), cephalopods (Cephalopodae), and aquatic and terrestrial snails (Gastropodae).

The mollusc family contains approximately 50,000–60,000 species. Due to the large number of different species, practical verification of all species is not possible. More detailed information is available in the Validation Report of SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs.

General Information

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments equipped for simultaneous detection of two fluorescence emission channels, FAM and VIC/HEX.
