1. Intended use

The walnut allergy rapid test kit (catalogue number: BLH707-15) with the integrated hook line from bioavid is an immunochromatographic assay for the sensitive and qualitative detection of walnut allergen residues on surfaces (for example swab testing for hygiene control in food production lines), in cleaning and process water (CIP water) and in food samples. The integrated hook line prevents false-negative interpretation of strongly positive samples.

2. General information

- Walnut contamination in food can cause sensitisation in susceptible people. Food production lines must be free of residues to prevent these allergic reactions. The effectiveness of cleaning can be verified using a surface allergen rapid test.

- The surface swab test is an easy-to-use method that provides fast and reliable analytical results. Using our bioavid swab test is very simple and can be handled by untrained personnel. - Strongly coloured or acidic/alkaline solutions must be extracted with the absorbent buffer (catalogue number BS810-25). The buffer solution decolourises or neutralises the solutions in order to avoid false-positive results (for example strongly coloured fruit juices).

- For the analysis of non-validated samples, the document “Solid sample testing verification SOP” (standard operating procedure) and the detailed instructions for use can be used.
