Trypto Soya Broth 05630 microbiological culture medium | Soybean Casein Digest Broth

- Trypto Soya Broth 05630 (Soybean Casein Digest Broth) is used to cultivate fastidious bacteria such as Neisseria, Brucella, streptococci and pneumococci.

1. Preparation

- Add 30 g of the dry medium to 1 L of distilled water, mix well and heat to dissolve.

- Dispense into suitable containers and sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.

2. Notes

- This medium is commonly used to cultivate fastidious bacteria such as Neisseria, Brucella, streptococci and pneumococci.

- Because the bacteria grow quickly in this medium they tend to die quickly, so it is not suitable as a stock culture medium. Pneumococci, streptococci and Neisseria should not be subcultured repeatedly on this medium.

- For blood culture, inoculate 5 ml of blood sample into 50 ml of medium to isolate bacteria from septicaemia and bloodstream infection
