Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid and is used as a veterinary drug because of its anti-inflammatory activity. In meat production, triamcinolone has been misused for fattening purposes (as a growth promoter). These compounds have been found to have growth-promoting properties that improve the commercial quality of meat.

Triamcinolone acetonide ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies against triamcinolone acetonide.
