1. Intended use

RIDASCREEN®FAST T-2 Toxin (product code R5302) is an ELISA kit using a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of the T-2 toxin in cereals and animal feed.

2. General information

The T-2 toxin belongs to the trichothecene group of mycotoxins and is produced by fungi of the genus Fusarium. The T-2 toxin is commonly found in agricultural commodities, although the incidence and the concentrations found vary greatly between regions. Because of its cytotoxic and immunosuppressive mode of action, the T-2 toxin is a threat to human and animal health.
