1. Intended use

RIDA® QUICK T-2/HT-2 (product code R5304) is a rapid test kit for the T-2/HT-2 mycotoxins, used for quantitative immunochromatographic strip testing to determine T-2/HT-2 levels in oats, wheat and maize. Results are evaluated with the RIDA®SMART APP software or with the RIDA SMART BOX device.

2. General information

The T-2 and HT-2 toxins belong to the trichothecene group of mycotoxins and are produced by fungi of the genus Fusarium. The T-2 and HT-2 toxins are commonly found in agricultural commodities, although the incidence and the concentrations found vary greatly between regions. Because of their highly cytotoxic and immunosuppressive mode of action, the T-2/HT-2 toxins are a threat to human and animal health.
