Product Information

SureFood® GMO SCREEN 4plex BAR/PAT/CryIAb/IAc/ CTP2:CP4 EPSPS is a multiplex real-time PCR kit designed for the qualitative detection and differentiation of specific DNA sequences associated with genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Intended Use

The kit enables the detection of the following specific DNA sequences:

BAR: Gene encoding phosphinothricin acetyltransferase originating from Streptomyces hygroscopicus.
CryIAb/IAc: DNA sequences encoding CryIAb and the CryIAb/Ac fusion gene.
PAT: Gene encoding phosphinothricin acetyltransferase originating from Streptomyces viridochromogenes.
CTP2 EPSPS: Junction sequence between the chloroplast transit peptide CTP2, originating from Arabidopsis thaliana, and the CP4 EPSPS gene associated with herbicide tolerance, originating from Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain CP4.

The detections are according to the validated methods of the European Commission or the official collection of detection methods of §64 German food law.

General Information

The real-time PCR assay is compatible with common real-time PCR instruments capable of simultaneous detection using four fluorescence channels: FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX, and Cy5.

Limit of Detection (LOD)	The SureFood® GMO SCREEN 4plex BAR/PAT/CryIAb/IAc/CTP2:CP4 EPSPS real-time PCR has a limit of detection of < 5 DNA copies. This is equivalent to a limit of detection of < 0.01 % based on the genetically modified organisms MON87751 Soya (CryIAb/IAc), DAS-81419-2 Soya (PAT), NK603 Corn (CTP2:CP4 EPSPS) and Bt176 Corn (BAR).
