Product Information

SureFood® GMO SCREEN 4plex BAR/NPTII/PAT/CTP2:CP4 EPSPS is a multiplex real-time PCR kit designed for GMO screening in food, feed, and seeds.

Intended Use

The kit is designed to detect the following specific DNA sequences associated with genetically modified organisms (GMOs):

BAR: Phosphinothricin acetyltransferase gene originating from Streptomyces hygroscopicus.
NPTII: Antibiotic resistance gene encoding neomycin phosphotransferase.
PAT: Phosphinothricin acetyltransferase gene originating from Streptomyces viridochromogenes.
CTP2:CP4 EPSPS: Junction sequence between CTP2, a chloroplast transit peptide signal sequence originating from Arabidopsis thaliana, and the herbicide tolerance gene CP4 EPSPS originating from Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain CP4.

The kit complies with German Food Law § 64 for the detection of genetically modified DNA sequences, particularly technical specification BVL L-00.00-154.

General Information

The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments equipped for simultaneous detection of four fluorescence channels at wavelengths of 510 nm, 580 nm, 610 nm, and 660 nm, corresponding to FAM, VIC, ROX, and Cy5, respectively.
