1. Intended use

The succinic acid test kit for food Enzytec™ Liquid Succinic acid E8580 is an enzymatic UV test kit for the determination of succinic acid in food and other sample materials.

2. General information

- Succinic acid (or succinate) is found in all plant and animal materials, because this dicarboxylic acid plays a central role in citric acid cycle metabolism. Succinic acid concentrations are monitored during the production of many foods and beverages, including wine, soy sauce, soy flour, fruit juices and dairy products (for example cheese).

The product line Enzytec™ Liquid allows the enzymatic determination of sugars, organic acids and other food components. All of these reagents are liquid and ready to use, offering major improvements in laboratories:

- In small laboratories, a few samples can be tested and the reagent stored for later use, because the original shelf life remains valid.

- In large laboratories with automated systems, the reagent can be placed directly into any automated clinical chemistry analyser and kept refrigerated on board for random access.
