Product detail

In molecular biology, RT-qPCR (Reverse Transcription Quantitative PCR) is an essential tool for gene-expression analysis, RNA virus detection, and assessing gene expression in biological samples. To ensure high accuracy, sensitivity, and reproducibility, using a one-step master mix of high quality is critical. One product laboratories rely on today is One-Step Takyon® Ultra Probe 4X MasterMix from Eurogentec.

1. Pack format

PCR master mix details One-Step Takyon® Ultra Probe 4X MasterMix has the following standard format:

- Takyon® Ultra is available in packs of different sizes, from 200 to 10,000 reactions of 20 µL.

- Packaging: solution in bottles or pre-filled 1.5 mL tubes, mix ratio 4X, packed with reverse transcriptase and an RNase inhibitor (when the complete kit is selected)

- Store at -20°C

- The 1,000-reaction kit contains: five tubes (1 mL each; black caps) of 4X MasterMix containing Takyon® DNA polymerase, MgCl2, dNTPs, and stabiliser; two tubes (0,22 ml each; white caps) of Euroscript II RT PLUS; one tube (0,5 ml; red cap) of ROX™ passive reference. A 5-pack contains five 1,000-reaction kits.

- Takyon® Ultra is an RT-qPCR reagent optimised for improved viral RNA detection and multiplexing. Our probe-based One-Step Takyon® Ultra RT qPCR MasterMix detects specific viral RNA, such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and RSV, with high reproducibility, high sensitivity, and a wide dynamic range. Combined with improved Euroscript II Plus, this reagent makes it convenient to set up high-throughput automated assays at room temperature.

2. Applications

The product one-step master mix - One-Step Takyon® Ultra Probe 4X MasterMix is widely used for:

- Detection and quantification of RNA viruses (for example SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, Dengue...)

- Gene-expression analysis in molecular biology research

- Biomedical, veterinary, agricultural, and food testing

- Transcriptome analysis and RNA variant studies

3. How it works

One-step master mix is a reaction mix designed to carry out both steps — reverse transcription and PCR amplification — in a single reaction tube. The process is:

- Reverse transcription: sample RNA is converted to cDNA by reverse transcriptase.

- Amplification: cDNA is amplified in real time by DNA polymerase, with a fluorescent probe such as TaqMan®.

This reduces cross-contamination and handling time, and keeps RNA detection reliable.

4. Key advantages

- 4X concentration: allows a larger RNA sample volume, increasing sensitivity for samples with a low RNA concentration.

- Complete one-step format: reverse transcriptase and DNA polymerase are combined in one tube — saving time and reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

- Optimised for fluorescent probes: compatible with probe types such as TaqMan® and Molecular Beacon.

- High efficiency and outstanding accuracy: good reproducibility from run to run.

- User-friendly: easy to use on both routine and high-end qPCR systems.

- Stable in long-term storage: tolerates repeated freeze–thaw cycles and is convenient to store and ship.

- 4X FAST MasterMix: a more concentrated mix to maximise your template volume, able to deliver FAST results

- Improved multiplexing: detect several pathogens in one test

- For all thermocyclers: each kit includes a vial of ROX™ for optimal results on every ROX-based platform

PCR Master Mix kit - One-Step Takyon® Ultra Probe 4X MasterMix is an ideal choice for RT-qPCR thanks to its thoughtful design, outstanding performance, and high flexibility. Using a one-step master mix improves the sensitivity and accuracy of the reaction and saves time and effort in the laboratory. If you need a complete, stable, and effective solution for RNA testing, the Eurogentec product is one of the leading choices.
