The microbiology culture medium Trypto Soya Agar 05516 (SCD Agar) is a general-purpose agar that allows fastidious bacteria, which usually grow on Nutrient Agar or Heart Infusion Agar, to grow.

1. Preparation

- Add 40 g of the dry medium to 1 L of distilled water, mix well and heat to dissolve.

- Sterilise by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Use as plates or slants.

2. Notes

This medium has many uses because it allows fastidious bacteria that grow on Nutrient Agar or Heart Infusion Agar to develop.
