1. Intended use

The Lactoferrin immunoaffinity column (product code RBRP700) is a heparin affinity column that binds lactoferrin and separates it from other proteins, ensuring accurate, reliable results in a range of different applications.

2. General information

- This procedure is based on the affinity of heparin for bovine lactoferrin, which gives the assay specificity, sensitivity and speed and makes it simple to perform.

- The affinity column containing a heparin gel suspension recovers bovine lactoferrin. After extraction of infant formula, the sample is centrifuged at 4 °C, the fat is removed and the supernatant is then passed through the column. The column is washed before elution. The eluate is collected and analysed by HPLC.
