1. Intended use
The Folic Acid immunoaffinity column (product code RBRP81) is used in combination with HPLC or LC-MS/MS to detect folic acid in a wide range of commodities.
2. General information
- This procedure is based on monoclonal antibody technology, giving the test high specificity, sensitivity, speed and ease of use. The columns contain a gel suspension of monoclonal antibodies specific to the vitamin of interest.
- After vitamin extraction, the sample extract is diluted with buffer and filtered before being passed slowly through the immunoaffinity column. Any vitamin present in the sample is retained by the antibodies in the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove any unbound material and the vitamin is then released from the column after elution with solvent. The eluate is collected, evaporated and reconstituted before analysis by HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
