1. Intended use
The biotin immunoaffinity column (product code RBRP82) is used in combination with an HPLC or LC-MS/MS system to detect biotin in a wide range of commodities.
2. General information
- This procedure is based on monoclonal antibody technology, which gives the test high specificity and makes it sensitive, fast and easy to perform. The columns contain a gel suspension of monoclonal antibodies specific to the vitamin of interest.
- After vitamin extraction, the sample extract is diluted with buffer and filtered before being passed slowly through the immunoaffinity column. Any vitamin present in the sample is retained by the antibody in the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove any unbound material and the vitamin is then released from the column after elution with solvent. The eluate is collected, evaporated and reconstituted before analysis by HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
