Gifu Anaerobic Medium Broth, Modified medium | GAM Broth Modified 05433

- GAM Broth, Modified medium is used to isolate and cultivate anaerobic bacteria from clinical samples.

- GAM Broth, Modified is also used for antibiotic susceptibility tests (other than the antibiotic sulphonamide).

1. Preparation

- Add 41.7 g of the dry medium to 1 litre of distilled water and heat to dissolve. Dispense the medium into suitable containers.

- Sterilise by autoclaving at 115 °C for 15 minutes and cool rapidly without shaking.

2. Notes

This liquid medium is used to isolate and cultivate anaerobic bacteria from clinical samples. This medium is also used for antibiotic susceptibility tests other than sulfa drugs.
