Intended use
Competitive enzyme immunoassay for the screening and quantitative analysis of gentamicin in various sample matrices.
General information:
Gentamicin is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group. All aminoglycosides are toxic compounds capable of causing considerable damage to vestibular and auditory function in humans as well as in animals. In the EU, MRLs have been established for gentamicin residues in:
- Bovine milk (100 ppb)
- Bovine/pig muscle (50 ppb)
- Fat (50 ppb)
- Liver (200 ppb) and kidney (750 ppb).
In addition, in combination with the streptomycin and neomycin ELISAs, we also offer a single panel for the detection of these three aminoglycosides in a range of sample matrices.
