1. Intended use
The multi-mycotoxin immunoaffinity column AO ZON PREP® (product code: RBRP112) detects aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, ochratoxin A and zearalenone simultaneously in a wide range of commodities. The column is analysed on HPLC or LC-MS/MS equipment.
2. General information
- This procedure is based on monoclonal antibody technology, which makes the assay highly specific, sensitive, quick and easy to perform. Improved clean-up and concentration of the toxin from complex food matrices leads to less chromatographic interference and a lower detection limit. The columns contain a gel suspension of monoclonal antibodies specific to the toxins to be analysed.
- After the toxins are extracted, the sample extract is filtered, diluted and passed slowly through the immunoaffinity column. Any toxin present in the sample is retained by the antibodies in the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove unbound material and the toxins are then released from the column after elution with solvent. The eluate is collected and injected before analysis by LC-MS/MS. Aflatoxin must be derivatised when analysed by HPLC.
