1. Intended use

- Enzytec™ Color GlucaTest® is a test kit for the quantitative determination of high molecular weight Beta Glucan (ß-Glucan) from barley in wort and malt (EBC 4.16.3, MEBAK 3.1.4.9.2), combined with the EBC 4.5.1 sample extraction method. The assay does not use any enzyme; the reaction is a chemical / colorimetric reaction (hence the Enzytec™ Color product line).

- Two test kits are available for the two pack sizes: 40 tests (order code E3500) and 160 tests (order code E3550).

2. General information

- Determining the Beta-Glucan concentration is very important for the malting and brewing industry.

- This assay was developed by NovaBiotec – Dr. Fechter GmbH and production was transferred to R-Biopharm AG. The raw materials and the production process of the original GlucaTest® Rapid (NovaBiotec) assay and of the new Enzytec Color GlucaTest kit are identical. Only the packaging was changed slightly to suit the new production facility.
