Alkaline Peptone Water 05206 microbiological medium

The Alkaline Peptone Water 05206 microbiological medium is used for the enrichment of two bacteria, Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus, which grow mainly on the surface of the medium.

1. Preparation

- Add 20 g of the dry medium to 1 L of distilled water, mix well and heat to dissolve. Distribute about 10 mL of the medium into test tubes and sterilise by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes.

- The medium is used for the enrichment of Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus, which grow mainly on the surface of the medium.

2. Notes

Incubate at 37 °C for 8 hours.
