1. Intended use

AFLACARD Total (product code RBRP38) is an Aflatoxin Total rapid test kit containing qualitative screening cards for the detection of Aflatoxin Total at various levels in food and animal feed.

2. General information

- This test kit is based on monoclonal antibody technology, which has the advantage of high specificity and sensitivity, while the test format is quick and easy to perform. This screening procedure is designed to indicate the presence of the toxin at various screening levels in accordance with international legislation.

- The toxin is extracted from the sample, filtered and passed through a clean-up column before being diluted and applied to the card. The conjugate is applied to the membrane and unbound conjugate is then removed by washing. A colourless substrate is added and the card is incubated for five minutes. Finally, a stop solution is applied to the membrane. A purple dot must appear at the control position to indicate that the test is valid. A purple dot at the sample position indicates a contamination level below the threshold value on the card. No colour at the sample position indicates a contamination level above the threshold on the card. The test procedure takes about 10 minutes to perform.
