A talk by Roy Betts - an expert at Campden BRI, a food research and consultancy organisation in the UK. His role is to keep full awareness of microbiological concerns up to date and to help companies respond to and manage microbiological issues related to the production line.
The first session lasts 10:30s Main content:
Many companies have developed new testing methods that are easier to use, faster and more cost-effective than standard methods. So how do we make sure these new testing methods are good and give results identical / equivalent to those of the standard methods reliable in TCVN, ISO, ASTM,...
What needs to be done is method validation.
- First, you need a standard procedure for method validation
- Second: the evaluation of the results must be reviewed independently and approved by a third independent body (For testing laboratories in Vietnam, assessment according to ISO17025 can be carried out by BOA).
- Third, you need some certificates and certifications issued by an independent certification body.
MicroVal is one of the organisations that support the evaluation of new test methods. Together with AFNOR, MicroVal uses ISO 16140 as the standard for method validation.
MicroVal is an independent method certification and confirmation system that is widely accepted around the world. Thanks to its highly experienced team, they are proficient at carrying out validation, which brings reliability to the results.
