1. HYDRANAL Water Standards titration water
Calibration, verification and testing of analytical instruments and reagents are carried out with a specific amount of water, purified water or a water standard. The challenge with purified water is the low amount required (10-50 mg for volumetric and 0,1-1 mg for coulometric), which is very difficult to handle and weigh.
Therefore, we recommend using the Hydranal Water Standards with accurate water content for:
- Determination of the Titer index
- Monitoring accuracy
- Verification and testing of Karl Fischer titrators in accordance with ISO, GMP, GLP and FDA guidelines
Traceability to a national standard or SI unit is often required in these guidelines. All products of the Hydranal Water Standards are tested against the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA) standard reference material SRM 2890, Water Saturated Octanol.
The liquid standards consist of a solvent mixture with a defined composition and precisely determined water content. They are packaged in glass tubes under argon. Each box contains ten easy-to-open single-use ampoules (pre-scored).
Solid standards contain a defined amount of chemically bound water and are suitable both for general use and for Karl Fischer oven use. These standards are packaged in amber glass bottles.
