- The Compact Dry plate is a ready-to-use, dehydrated medium plate with a long shelf life at 1-30°C, ready for use to test for microorganisms in food and microorganisms in water. The Compact Dry plate is based on a microorganism detection mechanism based on the reaction of enzymes produced by microorganisms during incubation with specific substrates to produce colonies with characteristic colours.

- The Compact Dry™ CFR Coliform Rapid plate is a ready-to-use medium plate for the rapid detection of coliform bacteria, developed especially for dairy products.

- With the Compact Dry CFR plate, coliforms can be detected as white-blue fluorescent colonies under ultraviolet (UV) light at 365nm after 6 hours of incubation. In addition, coliform negative results or coliform counts can be obtained by counting blue / blue-green colonies after 16 to 18 hours of incubation.

1. Rapid detection of positive coliform results - early detection of abnormalities

- By using the CompactDry™ CFR plate at the start of the working day, coliform positive results can be obtained as early as the end of the working day. For example, a sample collected at 8:00 am, incubation started at 9:00 am, coliform positive results at 3:00-5:00 pm (after 6-8 hours of incubation).

2. Rapid confirmation of coliform negative results - earlier product dispatch

By using the CompactDry™ CFR plate at the end of the working day, coliform negative results can be obtained at the start of the next working day. For example, a sample collected at 4:00 pm, incubation started at 5:00 pm, coliform negative results at 9:00 am (after 16 hours of incubation).

3. Certification of the CompactDry™ CFR Coliform Rapid plate

The CompactDry™ CFR plate for enumerating coliform bacteria after 16-18 hours of incubation has achieved MicroVal certification for raw milk and dairy products, heat-treated milk and dairy products (Certification number: 2023LR123). This product has been validated according to EN ISO 16140-2:2016 and has been shown to be equivalent to the reference method ISO 4832:2006.
